A major infrastructure milestone was completed with the delivery of a section of the S6 Metropolitan Bypass of the Tri-City. As part of this project, NCT S.A. supplied and installed Passivepole composite passive safety poles mounted on foundations, providing a solution that meets the highest passive safety standards.
A modern solution for high-speed roads
The S6 Metropolitan Bypass is a key part of the transport network in northern Poland, designed to accommodate high traffic volumes while meeting stringent road safety requirements. To support these objectives, the project incorporated Passivepole poles manufactured from glass fibre reinforced polymer (GFRP), specifically developed for use on motorways, expressways, and regional roads.
The system is designed to minimise the consequences of vehicle collisions with roadside infrastructure. In the event of an impact, the composite pole absorbs collision energy, significantly reducing the forces transmitted to the vehicle and its occupants. This helps improve road safety and supports a modern, safety-focused approach to infrastructure design.
Delivered in partnership with Budimex
The project was completed in cooperation with Budimex, one of Poland’s leading infrastructure contractors. The completion of the investment enabled the opening of a modern section of the expressway that combines high performance with enhanced safety for road users.
