Composite meshes and bars

An excellent alternative to steel and geotechnical materials. Up to 3 times longer structure life

Advantages

Composite bars and meshes are an innovative, ecological and economical building material that can successfully replace reinforcing steel and geotechnical fabrics, and their main advantages are:

  • 18% cheaper storage (bars from 6 mm to Ø 12 mm inclusive can be packed in coils from 150 to 350 m, which minimises the need for overlapping and waste), and also facilitates transport
  • 4 times lighter construction (compared to steel bars of the same diameter)
  • 2.5 times more tensile strength (compared to steel bars)
  • full resistance to corrosion, aggressive and difficult environments
  • dielectricity and antimagneticity
  • concrete structures reinforced with composite bars or meshes do not require subsequent maintenance, repairs or renovations, which meets the requirements of design taking into account the life cycle cost (LCC)
  • in the production of GFRP materials, CO2 emissions are almost 10 times lower and the carbon footprint is minimal

Application

Our materials are perfect for construction and geotechnical applications such as: foundation slabs, industrial floors, parking lots and manoeuvring yards, diaphragm walls, retaining walls, concrete bridge slabs, for reinforcing and strengthening tram slabs, pavement slabs, for prefabricated concrete elements, as reinforcement of embankment and road transmission layers, for reinforcing tram and railway slabs and tracks; GFRP rebars are used in tunnel works as temporary reinforcement for TBM (tunnel boring machine), as ground anchors, etc.

GOOD TO KNOW…

Our clients can count on comprehensive support from the concept stage, construction design or implementation stage. In consultation with our experienced designers and authors of the original versions, we will adjust standard solutions to optimise them in terms of technical requirements or cost reduction.

Advantages of pultrusion composite structures

Low weight

They are much lighter than traditional construction materials such as steel or concrete. This reduces transport costs and facilitates installation

High durability

Pultrusion products provide high mechanical strength. They are perfect for structures exposed to heavy loads

Dimensional stability

They exhibit slight dimensional changes in response to changes in temperature and humidity. This guarantees the stability of the structure in the changing environmental conditions

Resistance to material fatigue

They withstand repeated loads for a long time without cracking or damage

Design and moulding

The pultrusion process allows to create profiles with complex shapes and precise dimensions. We will design the shapes and dimensions you need for your project

Durable and light fibreglass composite solutions

Own production plant, highest quality raw materials, tested products

Composite fibreglass meshes and rebars are made in the MKP Kompozit plant belonging to the group, specialising in high-quality solutions and implementations in the field of innovative building materials. The company has its production plant in Karwina, where GFRP rebars and meshes are produced. We operate based on numerous tests under the National Technical Assessment (KOT) by the Road and Bridge Research Institute (IBDiM) in Warsaw - and the TZUS Czech Construction Institute in Prague.

For production, we use only the highest quality raw materials - glass fibre with increased chemical resistance CR or AR (Advantex) and epoxy resin compositions
