Like GFRP bars, composite meshes have been used for years as an alternative to traditional steel reinforcement in concrete elements such as foundation slabs, tramway slabs and industrial floors. Today, their application is expanding to include the reinforcement of load-distribution layers in roads, embankments and railway subgrades, where they are increasingly competing with conventional geosynthetics and geogrids.

 

Project Example: Chybie–Zebrzydowice Railway Line

One of the latest projects demonstrating the effectiveness of this solution is the construction and modernisation of the Chybie–Zebrzydowice railway line. As part of the investment, a composite mesh with a 4 mm diameter, a 100 × 100 mm aperture size and a width of 2 m was used to reinforce the railway subgrade structure.
